I wanted to document my homemade gifts for loved ones again this year! Top three are applique tapestries I made for 3 childhood friends, bottom left is a cross stitch I made for my partner's mom, and bottom middle/right are macrame tapestries (made identical ones for my mom and aunt)

Halloween Quilt plans

Yes, it is that time of year. Early planning stage for holiday stuff that takes time to make. As Halloween is my favorite holiday I have quilt a lot of ambition on projects I want to work on in 2025. First off I have two quilts in process that need to be finished.

First is the Halloween quilt I am currently working on is my Bat Quilt. I am using the free bat block from Fat Quarter Shop. It has unforchanatly been put on hiatus as I am waiting for the last tiny bit more fabric I need to buy to come back into stock. I am a 1/4 meter short of it and they are waiting on it to come in. So I will be stopping by every week after they get more fabric in to see if it is back.

Next is my Owl-o-ween charm pack quilt that I ran out of fabric for and need to order more. Which due to the postal strike is the reason it is on hiatus. (Yes, I know the strike is over but the place I need to order from is still not shipping stuff to Canada).

Okay in progress stuff done here are some that I am interested in starting. I really want to make a half square triangle quilt in all black and orange print fabrics after this one image I found but now can't trace back to the original blog. It all just ends up in a pintrest loop, but yeah I love it and want one.

Depending on how much time I have and which I get a chance to find fabric for easier this is the second quilt for a new fabric line set to launch later in 2025.

i know i said i couldn't maintain the level of output i've been at for the pixel quilt (most of what i'm playing is not nearly short enough for that) but i may be about to drop two games, which would, in fact, put me at one game per day for the year so far. which is incredibly unrealistic. i cannot beat 365 games in a year. i don't have time for that.

Good-bye 2024! It was a challenging year for me artistically. Between burnout and the rise of generative AI, I lost interest and passion in drawing and painting. I found solace in pursuing other art forms - primarily sewing! Getting to make something that no generative AI has the ability to produce has put the wind back under my artistic sails. I am excited to make more of everything next year - whether it's drawing, painting, sewing, collaging or something else.

Current doll quilt progress. I’m waiting to iron the horizontal seams until all the 9 blocks are constructed, because I am still not sure if I want to sew them together or do sashing to separate them. In any case, it is fun to see the different blocks come together. Nearly all of these are leftover fabric from a quilt my mom made, and some come from my own past quilts or my stash put into that project. So like double the fun!

(Not counting the maroon plaid. That’s a recent stash one.)
